ProductCart News and Updates - December 2009
ProductCart News and Updates is a newsletter sent by Early Impact to users of its ProductCart shopping cart software. It contains product announcements, important updates, tips and tricks, and other userful information for ProductCart users. This message was sent using MailUp, a robust e-mail marketing system that is nicely integrated with our e-commerce software. ProductCart updates & security patch

We just released two updates for ProductCart:

  • A "Service Pack" for ProductCart v4
    We called it SP3 (since we had released two smaller updates in November). This is a cumulative update that includes all files that have been updated since the initial release of v4. This update also contains fixes for a couple of security issues that were recently brought to our attention. Here are all the details.

  • A security patch for ProductCart v3.51
    The same security issues found for ProductCart v4 were patched in v3 as well. You can find the files that fix the issues on the ProductCart Support Center. Details on what was fixed is included in the ZIP files that you will download.

Whenever a security issue is found, we do our best to react to it as quickly as possible. This update was made available within days of being notified of the vulnerabilities. We posted to Twitter, to our blog, and to the ProductCart Support Center as soon as the updated files were ready.

Please note: we are not aware that any of the vulnerabilities addressed with this update were ever exploited in any ProductCart-powered store. However, we recommend that you apply these updates as soon as possible to address the open issues.
MailUp 7

Our partners at NWEB have released MailUp 7. The system's graphical interface has been updated and many new features have been added, including even more, professionally designed e-mail templates, which you can browse (screen shot below), edit, and use in any of your e-mail campaigns.

The integration between MailUp and ProductCart has been updated so that the system is now fully compatible with version 4's "One Page Checkout" system (get the integration files).

Did you know that with MailUp you can send messages via SMS too? Just buy some credits and use them to send messages to mobile phones. You can use the "AutoProfile" feature to ask your customers to add a mobile phone to their account (e.g. "Receive discount codes via SMS!").

All existing users will automatically be updated to v7 over the next few weeks.
