New version of popular shopping cart software to be released next month.
MISSION VIEJO, CA, May 1, 2003 /For General Release/ -- Early Impact, an ecommerce software development company, announced today that a new version of its popular ProductCart shopping cart will be released on June 2nd, 2003.
Between now and June 2nd, customers that order ProductCart v1.6 receive a free upgrade to v2 and 10% off the retail price.
Version 2.0 of ProductCart will contain numerous new ecommerce features and enhancements. As always, we took our customers' feedback and turned it into features. We especially spent time focusing on new tools that dramatically increase productivity for store administrators that deal with larger product catalogs. Among the new features added to our ecommerce software:
- New Shipping Component. A completely redesigned shipping module offers support for UPS, USPS, FedEx, and CanadaPost. New features include the ability to select which options to display and in which order (e.g. only display UPS Next Day and UPS Ground, not UPS second day), the ability to set "free shipping" for any shipping option above a certain order value (e.g. make UPS Ground free when then order amount exceeds $150), and many others.
- Multiple Administrators. Add additional Control Panel users to help you administer your online store. Limit access to only specific areas of the Control Panel.
- Global Changes. Now the store administrator can apply changes to groups of products at once by selecting products through by using a variety of powerful filters, then applying changes that affect all the products in the group (e.g. change wholesale prices by 5% for all products in the "Action Movies" category).
- New Brand Management. Now you can easily associate products with brands (or suppliers), then let customers search or browse the store by brand. Easily make changes to all products within a brand (e.g. a price increase) using the Global Changes feature described above.
- Custom Checkout Options. A totally unique feature: the store administrator can now add up to 3 custom fields to the registration and checkout pages (e.g. requesting that the customer enters a Tax ID). Each field may be set as required or not required. A "How did you hear about us?" drop-down menu can also be added to the registration and checkout pages. It is shown only to first-time customers, and can be set as required or not required.
- Improved "Locate a Product" feature. Now it's much easier for the administrator to locate a product in the Control Panel by using multiple filtering criteria at the same time. Greatly improves productivity on stores that handle large amounts of products.
- New Quoting Features added to BTO. Now you can let customers submit quotes to you. You can also setup the system so that customers can only submit quotes, not purchase, thus turning with one click your online store into a real-time quoting system. Hide prices and disallow purchasing on specific build-to-order products (e.g. a service for which prices are not determined until the quote is prepared). Allow the administrator to review submitted quotes. Allow the administrator to reply to submitted quotes from within the Control Panel.
- Reward Points System. A $245 value! What used to be a $245 addition to ProductCart is now included in the standard version of the product. Learn more about the great features that the Reward Points module. It's a great way to keep your customers coming back to your online store again and again.
