Conflict Management features for ProductCart Build To Order

Help customers properly configure your customizable products

What if customers should not be allowed to select an item when another one is selected? Or what if an item should be selected when another one is chosen? This is what we refer to as Conflict Management. That is: when configuring a customizable product or service, there are often interdependent selections that are related in a variety of ways. Sometimes two or more selections can be in conflict with each other. Other times an item might be required when another selection is made. The scenarios are virtually endless. Buy now >>

Conflict management system for ProductCart Build To Order

You can now manage an unlimited number of business rules on your product configuration page by adding Conflict Management to your ProductCart Build To Order system. Its features translate into the ability to…

  • create an unlimited number of business rules to manage conflicts and enforce selections among any of the items that are assigned to a Build To Order product.
  • create completely different rules for different Build To Order products.
  • combine multiple rules to implement complex business logic.
  • copy rules from one Build To Order product to another, assuming the products share the selectable items that are referenced in those rules.
  • automatically make certain selections unavailable on the configuration page when a rule is enforced. If you select A, selections B and C are automatically "grayed out" to visually indicate that they cannot be selected: view example >>

Let's look at a real-life example. Take an online print shop that allows customers to order custom brochures using ProductCart Build To Order (view the demo).

  • In this example, some of the choices displayed on the page where customers can configure a custom brochure are incompatible with other available selections shown on the same page.
  • For example, load the page and select Orientation > Horizontal. The selection Style > Booklet is automatically grayed out and cannot be selected.
  • If you were to go the other way around and select Style > Booklet first, and then select Orientation > Horizontal, the system will alert you that the two selections are not compatible, and automatically deselect the second one to resolve the conflict.

The Conflict Management Add-on for ProductCart is now available for purchase. The price is $700 per store and it requires an existing ProductCart Build To Order license ($1,495). Buy now >>
