We have created a fictitious online catering Web site to show you how you can use ProductCart Build To Order as catering software. In this example a catering company accepts orders and/or requests for quotes on their Web site. Try it out.

Things to look for in the demo:
- Create an unlimited number of online menus where customers can pick and choose what they want.
- The price changes instantly as different selections are made.
- Quantity discounts can be setup so that the price per unit is reduced as the number of guests increases.
- Allow customers to pick items to create a menu for a catered event (e.g. wedding reception). No quantity fields are show on the page: customers simply pick the appetizers, entrees, etc. that they would like to offer, then enter the number of guests.
- Allow the selection of items that are not multiplied by the number of guests. For example: your customers may order 200 dinners, but only need 1 rock band to play at the reception. The system will know which items are multiplied by the number of guests and which are not to get to calculate the right total.
- Allow customers to order for a party: quantity fields are shown next to the items on the menu so that customers can specify what they want and how many of each (e.g. 20 burritos, 10 quesadillas, 30 taquitos, etc.).
- Specify rules that prevent customers from ordering things that don't go together (e.g. if you pick this, you cannot pick that; if you pick this, then you must also order that).
- Ask customers to specify a date and time for the event during checkout.

When you are testing the system using our demo catering store, note the following:
- Try saving a quote for a custom wedding reception. On the first page of the service configurator, choose the dinner menu. Change the number of guests and notice how everything is recalculated dynamically, without refreshing the page, including quantity discounts that are available for selected menu items.
- Then, on the second page, choose additional services such as a jazz band or a photographer, and notice how the cost associated with these services does not change regardless of the number of guests specified on the first page. Save a quote and view a printer friendly version of it.
