Version 3.x

Use the "Check for Updates" feature in the ProductCart Control Panel to download the correct update for your store. Updates are incremental, so you might have to perform multiple updates to move to the latest version.

Version 3.5

LinkPoint API Security Issue - 01.03.09.
Users of ProductCart v3.5 and the LinkPoint API payment gateway should install this update to address a security issue discovered on 01.03.09. See the ReadMe file inside the ZIP archive for instructions.

The following files are only for users of ProductCart version 3.11, unless otherwise indicated. A ReadMe file is included with each ZIP file and contains more details on what it addresses. If you are running a previous version of ProductCart, please see our Archives.

USPS International Shipping Rates - 05.23.08

A recent change in the USPS shipping API caused ProductCart to no longer display certain International shipping rates. See the ReadMe contained in the ZIP archive for details. Download the updated file

Security Alert - 05.20.08 | Last Updated 05.22

Anti spam fix - 04.21.08 (v3.11)

Added CAPTCHA validation to the "Tell a Friend" and "Contact" pages to prevent scripts from targeting the forms for spamming. First posted on 04.16, updated on 04.21. Download the updated files

Google Checkout improvements and bug fix - 02.28.08 (v3.11)

The files contain two improvements and one bug fix for users of Google Checkout:

• A tax calculation issue was addressed.
• The improvements are related to the removal of some limitations with shipping and tax. (e.g. International "World Ship Tag" was not available at the time of previous releases).

PayPal Express Currency Selection Bug - 02.28.08 (v3.11)

When Express Checkout is enabled without Direct Payment the currency selection does not save correctly. The system defaulted the currency to USD. Download the updated file

Build To Order Customer Pricing Category Fix - 01.10.08 (v3.11)

Addresses two issues related to stores using the Build To Order version and the customer pricing category feature. See the ReadMe file for details. Download the updated file

Yearly Sales Reports Fix - 01.01.08 (applicable to version v3.051 to v3.11)

This file fixes a discrepancy in the Yearly Sales Chart shown in the Quick Summary. Download the updated file

UPS OnLine® Tools "ShipAccept" Fix - 12.18.07

Users of the UPS OnLine® Tools shipping wizard should apply this fix. It addresses an unhandled error when confirming a shipment request to UPS. Currently, if an error occurs, it can result in a continuous loop until the browser is closed. Download the updated file

Updated 2Checkout integration with support for "Direct Return" - 12.17.07

Users of the 2Checkout payment gateway can now use "Direct Return" to automatically return their customers to their ProductCart store after purchase. Download the updated files

VAT + Gift Certificates: error on order verification page - 12.13.07

On stores using Value Added Tax (VAT) and Gift Certificates, there was an issue on the order verification page (pc/orderVerify.asp). Download the updated file

Build To Order + Conflict Management: error on configuration page - 12.12.07

When BTO configuration items were removed/inactive/out of stock, they were hidden on the configuration pages, but they were still active in the Conflict Management rules. This caused a problem. Download the updated file

Delay loading "Locate a Customer" page - 12.11.07

Stores with a high number of customers have reported delays loading the "Locate a Customer" page. This is due to the "Auto Suggest feature. Download file without "auto suggest"

Error on Order Completed page when using SSL - 11.27.07

The order was completed successfully, but the customer would not see the order confirmation page (pc/ordercomplete.asp) and an error would be returned. This appears to primarily affect stores using a shared SSL certificate, but in some cases a dedicated SSL certificate as well. Download the updated files

Credit card expiration date shown incorrectly on invoice page - 11.26.07

This affected the invoice page both when printing it for a single order (pcadmin/ordInvoice.asp) and for multiple orders (pcadmin/batchPrint.asp). Download the updated files

Before 3.11

Files released between 3.1 and 3.11, and suggested steps to take on common issues:

• HackerSafe (ScanAlert) warning related to Recently Viewed Products (smallRecentProducts.asp)
  ScanAlert detects the existence of a cookie, which stores an array of product ID values separated by '*'. They use a tool to modify the cookie to add malicious code. We modified the file to render this harmless. Download the updated file
• Search results page times out. Some USPS shipping rates now shown. Other small issues.
  Shortly after posting the v3.1 update, we discovered a few issues that would occur only in certain scenarios. They were immediately addressed. Download the v3.1 Patch.
• Google Checkout not working in the UK
  The integration with Google Checkout has now been extended to UK merchants. To use Google Checkout in the UK, please update to version 3.11 (a free update).
• PayPal Web Site Payments Pro not working in the UK
  The integration with PayPal Website Payments Pro has now been extended to UK merchants. To use PayPal WPP in the UK, please update to version 3.11 (a free update).
• USPS e-mail with subject "United States Postal Service(r) Action Required for Web Tools APIs..."
  For information about how the release of the new USPS API will affect ProductCart-powered stores, please see this forum posting. In a nutshell: there should be no disruption in service; some Priority Mail rates might be incorrect, but the issue will be addressed soon.
• Problem with latest PayPal SDK
  If you are experiencing any problems with the PayPal SDK, please note that the SDK is no longer needed. Simply update to the latest version of ProductCart (v3.11, a free update), which no longer requires the PayPal SDK and fully supports PayPal Website Payments Pro and Express Checkout in both the US and the UK. Files released between 3.051 and 3.1:

• Protx System Upgrade
  On August 1, 2007 Protx upgraded to a new system. If you are a current customer of Protx you should have received an email alerting you of this upgrade. We have updated the necessary files to support this change, so that you can continue to accept payments using Protx. The current ProductCart Protx integration will continue to work since Protx will set up automatic forwarders from the old style URLs to the new URLs.
• Google Analytics
  Take advantage of full integration with Google Analytics to gain more insight on where you Web orders are coming from and which of your marketing efforts are most effective.
• U.S. Postal Service International Rates change in product names.
  On May 14, 2007 USPS implemented many shipping changes. One of those changes was to restructure International Mail prices and along with that change were updates in the International product names. We have updated the necessary files so that you are able to return rates for international shipments via USPS.
• Find out how to generate search engine friendly pages.
  Learn about a simple way to generate search engine friendly, static-looking HTM pages that have the product or category name as part of the file name (file updated 05.23.07).
• ScanAlert warning of potential vulnerability.
  We added additional validation to a few files to patch alleged security issues found by ScanAlert. We do not believe any SQL injection attack could be carried out on a ProductCart as described by ScanAlert (and there are no reports of any). Still, these updated files should eliminate the alerts (04.05.07).
• Updated Google Checkout files
  Google Checkout has a useful "invoice" feature. You can send an invoice to any one from within the system. There was an issue in that when payment was received for the invoiced amount, Google Checkout would try to notify ProductCart of a new order, which resulted in a time-out error as there was no ProductCart order associated with the payment, but rather just a Google Checkout invoice. The issue has been resolved.
• New Dreamweaver extension released
  If you are a Dreamweaver user, checkout the cool, new "ProductCart Suite" extension.
• Generate sitemaps for Google, Live.com (MSN), and Yahoo!
  A sitemap is an XML file that tells a search engine where to find your pages (e.g. products, categories, etc.). The major search engines recently agreed to use the same format, so now you can generate one sitemap with ProductCart, and submit it to different search engines.
• Added pagination to batch-shipping page.
  This will help high-volume store that wish to use the batch-shipping feature.

Version 2.x

• 6.19.06 - FedEx rates not being returned.
  If your store is using FedEx as one of the shipping providers, the store will no longer be able to retrieve shipping rates from the FedEx Web site. This is because it is no longer possible to obtain shipping rates via HTTP requests, which was the technique used by ProductCart v2.7x. The change on the FedEx Web site that has caused this is outside of our control. FedEx now only allows rates to be retrieved via their API.
  
  The good news is that we worked closely with FedEx and went through their official certification program. ProductCart v3, which is now available, supports full integration with the FedEx API and allows you to finalize shipments right from the ProductCart Control Panel (printing labels). So to use FedEx on your store, you need to upgrade to v3 of our shopping cart software (otherwise the only other option is to activate another shipping provider).
• 11.10.05 - Security Update
  We were recently notified of a security issue that would allow a hacker to perform an attack against a ProductCart store via SQL injection, in order to retrieve select information from the database (e.g. email addresses). We have no reports of any incidents of this occurring on any ProductCart store. Download 2 files that need to be uploaded to your ProductCart store to patch this security problem.
  
  
• 10.11.05 - ProductCart v2.76p now available.
  A maintenance release for v2.76 has been released. Users of ProductCart v2.75 can update directly to v2.76p. Click on the “Check for Updates” link located on the Control Panel welcome page (menu.asp) to download the next available update for the version of ProductCart that you are currently running on your store. You will see the v2.76 Updater only once you have updated your version of ProductCart to v2.75.
  
  
• 09.07.05 - ProductCart v2.76 now available.
  ProductCart v2.76 adds a number of new features and improvements, and fixes all open issues. The v2.76 Updater is available free of charge to all ProductCart v2.75 users. The update files will be available for download on Thursday, September 8, 2005. Click on the “Check for Updates” link located on the Control Panel welcome page (menu.asp) to download the next available update for the version of ProductCart that you are currently running on your store. You will see the v2.76 Updater only once you have updated your version of ProductCart to v2.75.
  
  If you are using the Apparel Add-on, the Gift Add-on, or both, make sure to download the corresponding updates and install them right after you have updated your store to v2.76. Refer to the README file included with the updated files for detailed installation instructions.
  
  
• 04.15.05 - ProductCart v2.75 now available.
  ProductCart v2.75 adds a number of new features and improvements, and fixes all open issues. The v2.75 Updater is available free of charge to all ProductCart v2.71 users. Click on the “Check for Updates” link located on the Control Panel welcome page (menu.asp) to download the next available update for the version of ProductCart that you are currently running on your store. You will see the v2.75 Updater only once you have updated your version of ProductCart to v2.71.
  
  If you are using the Apparel Add-on, the Gift Add-on, or both, make sure to download the corresponding updates and install them right after you have updated your store to v2.75. Refer to the README file included with the updated files for detailed installation instructions.
